a prayer for rain

O Almighty God, we beseech Thee,
that we who in our trouble put our trust in Thy mercy
may be strengthened by Thy defense against all adversity.

Grant us wholesome rain, O Lord, we beseech Thee,
and graciously pour forth showers from heaven on the parched face of the earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee
in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.

Amen.

An Entire Day to Myself!

My husband and four youngest just left to spend the whole day at Schlitterbahn.  That means I am home alone!  Well, relatively alone, my brother-in-law and my 17yo daughter are here, but they are both self-sufficient and have their own plans.

First up is some much-needed, distraction-free housework, so I will come back afterward and let you know what I decide to do for fun!
