I am creating...lesson plans

I am going...nowhere today i hope, but i will probably need to run to the store

I am reading...a book found on the library sale table the title of which escapes me, h.p. four, and cc curriculum guides

I am hoping...it will rain

I am hearing...jackson browne ~ "your bright baby blues"

Memorial Day

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard among the guns below.

We are the dead.  Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved, and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

 ~by John McCrae

If you feel so led you may want to go here for a list of U.S. casualities and pray for the families of these brave souls who gave all.

One Post Every Two Months, or ...

Why do I even have a blog?

I love blogs! ~ at least, reading and looking at other people's blogs ~ So I want to have a blog, too, but the things that I most enjoy about other's blogs don't apply to my blog.  I do not have much talent for either written or artistic expression; I offer neither wit nor wisdom; I possess no great skill for organizing and planning, no expertise in any particular academic subject, no gift of spiritual encouragement.  My blog has no clear purpose or style ~ even to me.  I post infrequently and sporadically.  I waste too much time on here while accomplishing very little.

But...

I want to have a blog.

So...

I will keep tinkering with my template and posting sporadically and frustrating myself.  I will continue to enjoy being a part of this blogging world where I sit on the fringe and admire those who do have something to offer and be grateful that they share so graciously with me.

Larry Norman

Goodbye, farewell, we'll meet again
Somewhere beyond the sky.
I pray that you will stay with God
Goodbye, my friends, goodbye.

Larry Norman 4/8/1947 - 2/24/2008

He was one of my life-long favourites ~ along with Randy Stonehill and Keith Green ~ making radical Jesus music before it became "contemporary".

My prayers are with his family and friends.
